Gumbo cookoff this weekend

CROWLEY - Final planning is underway for the Seventh Annual Rice Capital Championship Gumbo Cook-Off presented by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place on Saturday, October 30, at the grounds of the Enterprise Building in Downtown Crowley, 11 North Parkerson Avenue.

Live entertainment will be provided by Nik-L-Beer beginning at noon. Admission is $5 which allows you to eat all the gumbo you can handle!! Other attractions include an Antique Car Exhibit and a Halloween Costume Contest. Gumbo will be ready at 12:30 p.m., so bring an empty stomach to taste all the different gumbos.
