Hanks, Dronet make plans for April 18th wedding
Shelton and Renella “Lisa” Hanks of Crowley are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming
marriage of their daughter, Amy Elizabeth, to Marcus Anthony Dronet. of Iota.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Susan and Joseph Red Lebouef of Crowley and Audrey and the late Dalton Hanks of Crowley.
Amy is a graduate of Crowley High School. She is presently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she is pursuing a degree in visual arts. Amy has plans to become an art teacher and also a photographer after graduation. With plans to further her education, she will later attend Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Virginia.
The prospective groom is the son of Rhonda Monceaux of Iota and Mark Dronet of Lake Charles. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dronet and Charles and Marilyn Monceaux, all of Lake Charles; and Horace and Carol Doucet of Crowley.
Marcus is a graduate of Crowley High School. He is enlisted in the United States Navy. After completing his basic training in Chicago, Illinois, he is now stationed aboard the USS Carl Vinson in NewPort News, Virginia.
The couple has plans to wed at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Levi Park in Crowley. Judges John and M’elise Trahan will officiate the exchanging of their vows.
A reception will follow at The Crowley Town Club.
Following the wedding the newlyweds will reside in Newport News, Virginia.
A prenuptial bridal shower honoring Amy was held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at her home. Her home was beautifully decorated in a wedding theme featuring blue and pink accents.
Hostesses were Courtney Hanks, maid of honor; Shawn Ward and Jennifer LeBouef.
The honoree was attired in a white V-cut dress along with pearls borrowed from her mother-in-law and grooms grandmother. She was presented with a corsage of white daisies.
Approximately 30 guests attended.
