CROWLEY – Services will be held Monday, August 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Crowley, La. for Mrs. Helen Stewart, 79, of Crowley, who died Friday, August 14, 2009 at 6:40 p.m. at Camelot Nursing Home in Crowley.
Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate the services.
Burial will follow the service at St. Francis Cemetery in Iota, La.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Duhon Funeral Home with viewing until 10 p.m. Visitation will continue when the funeral home reopens at 8 a.m. and will continue until the time of service.
A rosary will be recited by Ms. Ding Hoffpauir at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 16 in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, Joseph Stewart, Sr. of Crowley; two daughters Elaine Smith and her husband Wayde of Scott, La. and Ginger Stewart of Crowley; two sons, Joe Stewart Jr. and his wife Kris of Clermont, Florida and Jeff Stewart and his wife Lisa of Crowley; five grandchildren, Blair and Candice Smith, Tammy Smith, Tiffany Stewart, Brett and Heather Stewart and Casey Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Lane Bernard, Matthew Smith, Grace Smith, and Ella Grace Stewart; two sisters, Isabelle Roller of Crowley and Mable Brewer of West Lake, La.; three brothers, Horace Doucet of Sulphur, La., Allen Doucet of Albarado, Texas, and Herman Doucet of Basile, La.
Mrs. Stewart was a very caring and loving person. She was a friend to many, even strangers. If someone needed her help or guidance, she was the one that would always put her helping hand. She will be sadly missed and cherished always.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Clemence LaCombe Doucet, one sister, Lilly Albin and two brothers, Wilfred and J. D. Doucet.
