Lady Wolves split district contests, plan ‘Pink Game’
The Lady Wolves Volleyball Team split district contests during the past week, claiming a win over Northside in a four-game match and falling to Teurlings in a three-straight game match.
In the Northside win (16-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22), the Ldy Wolves were led at the net by Charlesha Dugas with nine kills, Layni Boudreaux and Katie Benoit each with eight kills.
The Offense was set up by Mia Guidry and Layni Boudreaux with 14 assists each.
Leading Dugas collected three blocks while Mary Peltier, Blaire Bergeron and Sidney Fontenot led digs on the back row.
In the Teurlings loss, Katie Benoit, Niesha Domingue and Charlesha Dugas each recorded four kills at the net, while Taylor Arceneaux joined them with recorded blocks.
Offensive assists were led by Mia Guidry and Layni Boudreaux each with six apiece.
Pink Game Slated
The Annual Pink Game (Volley For A Cure) will see the Lady Wolves host Sacred Heart of Grand Goteau on Oct. 30 in order to help promote breast cancer awareness.
As they have in the past, the Lady Wolves are raising funds for the cause, “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
The team is also selling “Volley For The Cure” t-shirts and for a $50 donation, anyone can have their name or business placed on the back of the shirt. The front of the shirt will have the team’s logo and the back will have all $50 sponsors. The shirts will be pink and sponsors will receive one free shirt, and two admissions into the game.

The Pink Game begins at 4 p.m. A ceremony to recognize all Survivors and to remember loved-ones lost to cancer will be held prior to the game. Door prizes will be distributed and other competitions and activities will be enjoyed.
