Rayne High Wrestling Action

Rayne High School hosted the 2014 Rayne Quad Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the RHS north gym.

The Wolves placed 7th among 17 teams, with the top points collected by McKinley (143.5), Basile (136), Lafayette (105), Sam Houston (100.5), Northside (100), Teurlings (92) and Rayne HIgh (85).

Placing for the Wolves were:

Anthony Seaux, 1st place at 126 pounds;

Tanner Leger, 2nd place at 170 pounds;

Andrew Arceneaux, 2nd place at 182 pounds;

Hunter Adkins, 4th place at 220 pounds;

Mason Benoit, 4th place at 285 pounds.

The “Outstanding Wrestler” for the lower weights was Rayne High’s Anthony Seaux at 126 pounds. Basile’s Mason Deshotel claimed the award for upper weight classes.

In additional to the many volunteers, Rayne High would like to thank Smoothies N More, M&M Sales/Canteen, Frog City Travel Plaza, Bayou Silkscreening, Byron and Elaine Guidroz, and many family members and friends of the RHS wrestling team for making their first individual tournament a success.

Rayne High’s home meet against Northside was re-scheduled for the south gym Wednesday, followed by a Saturday meet at Northside High.
