Wolves, Ladies roundball action continues

The Wolves and Lady Wolves remained busy following the Thanksgiving break prior to the start of their district schedules.
The Lady Wolves posted a perfect 3-0 record at the Westminster Tournament with wins over Northwest, Opelousas and the hosts.
Rayne recorded a 62-24 win over Westminster. They were led by Cierra Harmon with 12 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Tori Carriere dumped in 10 points, Tristan Mouton had 11, and Deaisha Guidry finished with 9.
Charlesha Dugas posted 24 points and 5 steals to lead the Lady Wolves with a 63-38 win over Opelousas. Teammate Tori Carriere netted 18 points while Whitley Larry recorded four blocks and 9 points towards the win.
In their 49-37 win over Northwest, Larry recorded all-round stats with 8 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 blocks. Completing the Rayne scoring were Tristan Mouton with 17, Charlesha Dugas tallying 11, and Tanner Wilson with 7.
The Lady Wolves were scheduled to travel to Lake Charles Tuesday to meet St. Louis, followed by another road trip to Lafayette on Friday against Acadiana High.
Rayne High boys travel to Lafayette High where they participated in the Lafayette High Tip-Off Classic.
The Wolves went 1-2 during the four-day round-robin tournament.
On Wednesday, Rayne defeated Abbeville, 43-36. In a tight contest, the Wolves pulled away in the seocnd half for the win led by Charles Jones with 10 points, eight by Peyton Larry and Drakkar Broussard.
In Thursday’s contest, the Wolves fell to Acadiana, 43-34. Leading the Rayne scores were Byron Mouton with nine, Charles Jones and Drakkar Broussard with seven each.
In their final game of the tournament, the Wolves fell to Comeaux 47-27 in a low-scoring contest. Rayne was led by Peyton Larry with 15 points.
The Wolves were slated to travel to West St. Mary Tuesday and hit the road again Friday at Abbeville.
