Wolves, Ladies roundball action; prepare for district

The Chritsmas break hasn’t been too kind to the Rayne High Wolves as they dropped a close 53-48 contest to Breaux Bridge Friday evening.

In a game that saw the Wolves trail slightly throughout, the Wolves just couldn’t get their offense running on all cylinders.

Breaux Bridge opened the contest leading 15-9 in the first quarter and never looked back for the non-district home win.

Leading scores for Raynewere Byron Mouton with 15 points and Peyton Larry with a dozen. They were followed by Charles Jones with nine, Trevon Fontenot dumped in seven, and Jharron Price with five.

The Wolves will now participate in the annual Midland High School Holiday Spectacular Dec. 26-28 at the Midland High School gym.

Lady Wolves

The Rayne High Lady Wolves are slated to participate in the Teurlings High School Holiday Tournament Dec. 26-28 in Lafayette.

They will open play on Dec. 26th in a 1:30 p.m. contest against Sam Houston, a 3 p.m. game on Dec. 27th against New Iberia Senior High, and a 3:30 p.m. contest on Dec. 28th against Northside.

Following tournament play, the Lady Wolves will begin district on Monday, Dec. 20, when they will host Beau Chene at the RHS north gym.
