Highland's Ledoux is St. Landry elementary principal of the year
Lorie LeDoux, principal at Highland Elementary, is St. Landry Parish Elementary Principal of the Year. She will compete in the regional competition.
LeDoux has been principal at Highland since 2003. Prior to that she was an instructional assistant at Martin Petitjean Elementary in Acadia Parish. From 1987 to 1988 LeDoux taught second grade at American School in Tegucigalpa Honduras. From 1988 to 1989 she taught fourth-grade science and social studies at Glendale Elementary. In 1989 to 1993 she taught fifth grade at Central Middle School. From 1993 to 2000 she served as ESL Coordinator and Teacher for St. Landry Parish (K-12th) and in 1999 she was the ESL Adult Evening class teacher.
She is a 1976 Eunice High school graduate and a 1981 USL graduate with a BS in Animal Science. She furthered her education in 1994 with a USL certification in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language, 1999 McNeese Master of Education, Supervision of Instruction and in 2002 a McNeese graduate receiving her Masters+30 certification, Educational Administration.
LeDoux is the mother of one daughter, Erika-Ann Brown and is the grandmother of three.
Her hobbies include reading, traveling, shopping. listening to Christian and classical music, and spending time with her grandchildren.
