Houston man hides cocaine in lawnmower clippings

St. Martinville — At approximately 1 a.m. this morning, a St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-10 for traveling too close, and for improper display of a license plate. Following inconsistencies regarding the driver’s travel plans, a K-9 was depoloyed and alerted on a lawmover in the rear of the truck. Further search of the lawnmower netted a fast food bag inside of the grass catcher along with grass clippings. It was discovered that there was approximately 2.2 pounds of suspected cocaine wrapped in plastic inside the bag. John Maurice Mouton Jr., of Houston, was arrested and charged with the following:

Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine over 400 grams.
