CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Howard Joseph Meaux, 86, who died April 6, 2009 at his home in Kaplan.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be officiating for the services. The family has requested that visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to the time of service. Sr. Justina Baker will lead a rosary at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
He is survived by one nephew, J.E. Foreman and his wife Ann of Crowley; two nieces, Helen Frederick and her husband Norris and Mary Ann Trahan and her husband Ronald both of Kaplan; eleven great nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Laura Belle Guidry of Erath.
Mr. Meaux is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilda Meaux; his parents, Clemile and Agnes Suire Meaux; one sister, Mamie Foreman and her husband Essie; two brothers, Isaac Meaux and his wife Onedia and Henry Meaux and his wife Lucia; and one great-nephew, James Trahan.
The pallbearers will be J.E. Foreman, Norris Frederick, Ronald Trahan, Kevin Power, Keith Foreman, Danny Frederick, and Randy Frederick.
The readings will be read by Gay Herpin. The gift bearers will be his two nieces, Helen Frederick and Mary Trahan.
The family would to thank Mr. Meaux’s caregivers, Olite Guidry, Leanna LeBlanc, and Donna Calhoun.
