Independence to host Veterans Day celebration
The Independence Chamber of Commerce and Veterans Day Committee will hold a General Meeting on Wednesday, September 17th at 6 p.m. in the Independence City Hall to discuss plans for the Veterans Celebration. This Celebration is for the Veterans and the community, and needs the help of the community to make it a success.
The committee is looking for a WWII Veteran to serve as the Grand Marshall. Please bring your nominee with you or bring their name, rank and age to the meeting.
The parade and celebration will be this November, date to be announced. We are asking for your ideas and organizations to participate. The Veterans Day Celebration will begin with the parade and after the disbanding we will kick off the festivities with food, fun, music and a Static Display of Military Equipment.
