Indy Idol Contest set for Saturday
Make that dream a reality and be a contestant at the 1st Annual Idol 2009 Contest presented by The Independence Chamber of Commerce, The Town of Independence, and The Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival.
Chamber President Rhonda Crocker gave her report on the status of the Indy Idol Contest which will be held Saturday, February 28, with registration beginning at 8 am at the Independence Elementary School Lunchroom. Preliminary Open Elimination begins at 9 a.m. with auditions beginning at 11:30 a.m. There is a $25 entry fee for contestants and a $5.00 spectator fee.
The Top 20 Finalists perform on stage at the Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival, Friday, March 13th. On Saturday, March 14th, the top 15 will perform, and then the winner will be announced. The Indy Idol 2009 winner will perform live on the Main Stage Sunday, March 15th. Indy Idol winner will receive a $1,000 Music Scholarship.
