Jade Kristin LeBlanc crowned Ms. Frog Festival Queen

Beautiful young ladies were named new Rayne Frog Festival honorees on Saturday, Oct. 27, during the 2012 Frog Festival Queen’s Pageants. The annual events were again held at the Rayne Civic Center emceed by Shawn LaCroix, Rayne Frog Festival Association member.
A newest portion of the festive program included the crowning of the 2012-2013 Ms. Frog Festival Queen, Jade Kristin LeBlanc of Gramercy. The 24-year-old beauty represented Gramercy for the pageant.
Jade is a theatre teacher at the Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy. She is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and is a sponsor of Big Brother-Big Sister of Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy.
The new Ms. Frog Festival Queen was crowned by the 2011 Frog Festival Queen Kimberly Fontenot.
Named 1st Maid was Dana Dupree Fontenot of Rayne. The 28-year-old is the owner/operator of Boutique Saisons, LLC in Rayne.
Britlyn LeBlanc Zagar of New Iberia was named 2nd Maid. She represented the City of Delcambre for the pageant.
Receiving 3rd Maid honors was Dontrell Williams McGee of Hammond. She was also presented the medallion for Miss Congeniality as voted upon by the contestants.
Concluding the list of contestants were Connie Kennedy of Lake Charles, Kourtney Morris Tyson of Oil City, and Nyetta Faye Meaux of Abbeville.
Mistress of ceremonies for the pageant was Shawn LaCroix of the Frog Festival Association, sponsors of the pageant.
To be able to compete for the title of Rayne Frog Festival Ms. Queen, contestants (1) may be a single, married or divorced female over the age of 24; (2) must be of good moral character and never been convicted of any felony.
The competition for Ms. contestants consisted of evening gown only.
Royal properties awarded during the pageant to the new Ms. Frog Queen included a beautiful customized frog crown, banner, engraved silver tray, and flowers.
