CROWLEY – Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for James H. Hoffpauir, 83, who passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy P. Hoffpauir of Westlake; one son, Archie Hoffpauir and wife Janine of Waco, Texas; three daughters, Gloria DeGroat and husband Art of Panama City, Fla., Julie Picard and husband J.C. of Westlake, and Margaret Slaughter and husband Jim of Arkansas City, KS; six grandchildren, Stacy Ervin and husband Ken, Timothy Hoffpauir and wife Sheranne, Jeremy DeGroat, Christopher Campbell and wife Stephanie, Joshua Slaughter and Peter Slaughter; eight great-grandchildren, Shannon, Brian and Kenny Ervin, Leanne, Megan and Jaymie Marlow, and Hailey and Liam Campbell.; and a host of family member and friends. Mr. James is preceded in death by a grandson, Johnathon DeGroat; and one brother, George Albert Hoffpauir.
Mr. Hoffpauir served his country in the US Army/Air Force during the World War II and he was a member of Army 8th Air Force.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
His pallbearers will be Timothy Hoffpauir, Christopher Campbell, Jeremy DeGroat, Joshua Slaughter, Peter Slaughter, J.C. Picard, Art DeGroat and Jim Slaughter.
