Janak and Romero consecrate wedding with Nuptial Mass
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath was the setting for the Friday, July 18, 2008 7:00 p.m., Nuptial Mass uniting Kayla Michelle Janak and Jordan Michael Romero. Father Wayne Duet presided over the evenings ceremony.
Kayla is the daughter of Jimmie Janak, Jr. of Abbeville and Janice and Marcus Morvant of Erath. She is the grand daughter of DiaAnna McCauley of Lafayette, Cifton and Julia Richard of Eunice, and the late Jimmie Sr. and Angie Janak.
Jordan is the son of Bryan and Nell Romero of Cow Island. He is the grandson of Harris and Learline David of Kaplan and the late Louissey Sr. and Lucille Romero.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and mother, Jimmie Janak, Jr. and Janice Morvant.
Kayla wore an ivory silky satin dress, designed with a ruched bodice. It was embellished with ivory beading down the sides and the mid-section of the gown, as well as beading around the halter neckline. Her look was finished with a two tiered, ivory elbow length veil. The veil was trimmed with a satin spun gold cord. The bride carried a presentation bouquet of mango calla lilies, chocolate Gerber daises, feathers, and lily grass accented with her grandmother’s rosary and tied with a chocolate colored ribbon.
Serving as Maid of Honor was Hayley Janak, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids for the event were Marissa Davidson, Philana Melder, Holley Mire, Allison Chapman, Jenna Richard, all friends of the bride, and Rachel Romero, sister-in-law of the groom.
The bridal attendants wore formal gowns of celadon iridescent tafetta. The strapless bodice was accentuated with crisscrossed shirred taffeta. A pleated sash strapped down the back of the tulip skirt. The bridesmaids carried a hand tied clutch bouquet of mini mango calla lilies, chocolate Ranunculus, feathers and lily grass accented with a mix of burnt orange and green berries, tied with bronzed chocolate colored ribbon.
Alex Simon, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. She carried a chocolate colored organza purse filled with colored petals of coral , orange and green accented with a broach of topaz and gold stones. The flower girl wore a head piece made up of cream miniature roses and a mix of berries finished in the back to make a bronzed chocolate colored bow. Ring bearers were Parker Romero and Lynkon Romero, nephews of the groom. Bailey Strother, niece of the groom, and Aubrey Richard, cousin of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids. The junior bridesmaids carried a simple presentation of three mini-mango calla lilies tied with a bronzed chocolate colored ribbon.
The Best Man was Justin Romero, brother of the groom. Jacob Hebert, Chance Yelverton, Durk Baudoin, Jaocb Fluitt, Scott LaFosse; friends, and Jeremy Romero, brother of the groom, served as groomsmen.
Ushers for the evening were Martin Janak, brother of bride; Royce Lasseter, friend of groom; Blake Cormier, friend of groom; and Jacob Landry, friend of groom.
The mother of the bride wore a formal gown of Tiffany chiffon in a rich color of caramel. The halter, pleated bodice featured a crisscross waist creating soft gathers throughout the gown.
The mother of the groom wore a formal gown of ruby chiffon. The open halter neckline was accented with a beaded silver and ruby embroidery in a floral motif. Shirred chiffon from the empire waist to the dropped waist gave the dress a fitted silhouette.
Mothers of the bride and groom wore corsages made of a mix of burnt orange and green berries accented with feathers and lily grass.
The presentation of the food table was adorned by a large old world urn filled with a mix of greenery, willow branches , magnolias, calla lilies, and berries.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy LeBlanc, Dana Granger, Elliot Manuel, and Nelwyn Soirez. Readings were given by Laurie Lopez, friend of bride; and Karen Simon, aunt of bride.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Erath Community Center. After their honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple plan to reside in Maurice.
