Jerrilynn Jones becomes Mrs. Shawn Michael Primeaux

Jerrilynn Ashley Jones of Rayne and Shawn Michael Primeaux of Crowley were united in holy matrimony during a seven o’clock evening candlelight ceremony on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Father Gary Schexnayder, pastor, officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Margaret Jones of Rayne, and the granddaugter of Ethel Stelly of Jennings and the late Edgar Stelly, and the late Thomas and Verdie Jones of Crowley. She is a 2005 Magna Cum Laude graduate of LSU and currently attends Texas Chiropractic College, where she will earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December of 2008.

The groom is the son of Michael and Karen Primeaux of Crowley, and the grandson of Rena Bertrand of Crowley and the late Nefor Bertrand, and Edia Primeaux of Gueydan and the late Felix Primeaux. He is a 2007 graduate of Louisiana Technical College-Lafayette Campus, and is employed as a draftsman for American Warrior Compression Company in Broussard.

Escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father, the bride wore an elegant bridal gown of white duchess satin. The strapless gown was designed with a split A-lined front skirt and beautifully embellished with sequins and metallic thread embroidery. The gown was completed with a spectacular beaded train that fell to a cathedral length. A stylishly graceful veil to match her gown completed the ensemble.

The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses intertwined with her grandmother’s roasary in the tradition of something old, and her godmother’s gold cross necklace given by the bride’s parents to her godmother on her wedding day as something borrowed. The bride chose her wedding gown as something new and carried a blue embroidered handkerchief in the tradition of something blue.

The bride’s sister, Brittney Jones, served as maid of honor, and a friend, Lorraine Breaux, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Hanna Breaux, Karla Haddock and Lauren Touchet, friends of the bride.

Bridal attendants each wore an apple red sleeveless spaghetti strap satin ball gown with chiffon drape neck and back tail while carrying matching bouquets of red and white roses.

The flower girl, Savannah Comeaux, cousin of the groom, wore a white floor length A-lined dress and carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

She was escorted by the ring bearer, Wesley Mire, cousin of the bride, who wore an all white tuxedo.

Best man to the groom was his brother, Brett Primeaux. Groomsmen were Cory Spell and Devon Sherman, friends of the groom. Male attendants each wore a black tuxedo with an apple red vest.

Ushers were Asron Mire, cousin of the bride, who also handed out the programs, Jimmie Smith, Godfather of the groom, and John Breaux, friend of the bride.

Offertory gifts were presented by Darlene Cryer, godmother of the bride, and Kathy Comeaux, godmother of the groom.

Scriptures were read by Monica Mire, cousin of the bride, and Jill Doga, friend of the bride.

Eucharistic ministers were Agnes Jones, aunt of the bride, and Monica and Craig Mire, cousins of the bride, with Josh Stemplewski, friend of the bride, attending as altar server.

Musical selections wer provided by vocalist Ellan Kay Baggett, friend of the bride; trumpeter Joe Stemplewski, friend of the bride; and organist Connie Beaugh.

A reception immediately following the ceremony was held at Keith’s The Ballroom in Lafayette.

Upon their return from a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
