Johanne Mauboules Moody
A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. for Johanne Mauboules Moody, 80, who died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Eddie Moody of Rayne; one daughter, Cindi Savoy and husband, Rodney, of Lafayette; one son, Dr. Edward Moody II and wife, Marita Stelly, of Rayne; five grandchildren, Neil Savoy, Dr. Ed Moody III and his wife, Crystal Lyons, Shelley Savoy Cestia and her husband, Dr. Boo Cestia, Bryan Moody, and Jacky Moody Pitts and her husband, Wesley Pitts; and seven great-grandchildren, Blair, Zach and Mia Cestia, Jillian and Collin Moody, and Annabelle and Sebastian Pitts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benton W. Mauboules and Edmae Servat Gossen; her sister and brother-in-law, Petite and Gil Comeaux, Sr.; and her much loved oldest grandson, Scott Savoy.
She was born in Rayne Saturday, January 12, 1929, the daughter of Benton W. Mauboules and Edmae Servat and lived in Rayne her entire life.
She enjoyed playing contract bridge, fishing for bream and sac-a-lait and traveling by motor home with her beloved, Eddie. They began traveling in the first of six motor homes in 1970, eventually visiting each of the continental United States, as well as Canada and Mexico. She was a charter member of the Cruisin’ Cajuns, a member of the Bago Cajuns, and a member of FMCA.
Her love for her husband and family is endless and her memory will be treasured by all of them.
Friends were received Wednesday, November 4, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 5, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until service at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
