Joseph Badon, Jr.
CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Joseph Badon, Jr., 73, who died Wednesday morning at the Crowley American Legion Hospital. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael’s, will officiate for the funeral mass. Visitation will be observed on Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until services. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Badon retired from the Conoco Refinery in Egan as a supervisor. He also served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
Mr. Badon is survived by his wife, Barbara Richard Badon of Crowley; two daughters, Karen Spaetgens and her husband, Larry, of Crowley and Cheree Joubert and her husband, Vernon, of Lafayette; a son, Richard Badon and his wife, Jennifer, of Broussard; two sisters, Lillie Dronet and her husband, Donald, of New Roads and Mary Ann Ledbetter and her husband, Wayne, of Jennings; and eight grandchildren, Leslie and Jacob Spaetgens, Brent, Scott, and Lindsey Badon, and John Erik, Steven, and Sarah Joubert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hilda Guidry Badon, Sr.; a brother, Melvyn Badon and a sister, Rita B. Girard.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and godchild, John and Steven Joubert, Jacob Spaetgens, Brent and Scott Badon, and Derek Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Norris Perry, J. E. Foreman, Ed Duthile, Henry Clement, Larry Spaetgens, Vernon Joubert, Ryan Richard.
