Joseph Claude Johnson
Cecilia – Joseph Claude Johnson, 80, died on Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2008, at a care center after battling a lengthy illness. Mr. Johnson continued his journey by donating his body to science to aid research in the prevention and/or treatment of his terminal disease.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dolores Credeur Johnson of Duson; and four children, Elvinia Johnson (Dickie Davitt) of Breaux Bridge, Perry Johnson (Pam) of Pace, Fla., Wendy Angelle (Pat) of Cecilia, and Libbie Johnson of Molino, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Krystal and Karly Johnson, Denton and Molly Angelle, Alex, Dustin and Megan Davitt; and one great-grandchild, McKenzie Taylor.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Adolte and Maire (Betancourt) Johnson; his brothers, George, Percy and Armand Johnson; his sisters, Lydia Clause and Lena Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a lifelong residents of the Cecilia/Breaux Bridge area. He co-owned Johnson’s Corner Bar in Breaux Bridge for a number of years and later retired as a voting machine custodian for the parish of St. Martin.
