Joseph "Tee Bay" Courville

Joseph Velius Courville, 91, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal followed in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Courville known as “Tee Bay”. He was a native of Basilee and the founder and former owner of Tee Bay’s Bar-b-que Sauce and Tee Bay’s Smoked Sausage. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a son, Nolan Courville of Lafayette; a daughter, Tess C. LeBouef of Eunice; a brother, Johnny L. Courville of Lake Charles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Janise Courville; his parents, Alex and Mea Fruge Courville.

Ardoin's of Basile was in charge of arrangements.
