Julia Leona Zaunbrecher
RAYNE – Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. for Julia Leona Zaunbrecher, 97, who died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her residence.
Interment will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be the celebrant for the funeral services.
Surviving are two sisters, Louise Z. Carpenter and Patricia Zaunbrecher, both of Rayne; two brothers, Bernard Zaunbrecher and Thomas Zaunbrecher, both of Rayne; three nephews, Karl Bailey of Rayne, David Bailey of Natchitoches, and Wallace R. Ousse of Frederick, MD; four nieces, Barbara Carpenter Miller of Rayne, Kathleen Bailey Burk of Pensacola, Fla., Helena Ousse Long of Kenner, and Anne Ousse of Lafayette; five great-nieces, Teresa Bailey Day of Baton Rouge, Brianna Bailey Megee of Natchitoches, Elizabeth Long of Lafayette, Stacy M. Miller of Lafayette, and Jennifer Ousse Seye of Baltimore, MD; and three great-nephews, Joseph Long of Natchitoches, Ryan L. Miller of Bellvue, NE, and Christopher Ousse of Frederick, MD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Zaunbrecher, Sr. and Helena Frey Zaunbrecher; three sisters, Stephanie Zaunbrecher, Teresa Z. Bailey, and Eleanor Z. Ousse; three brothers, John Zaunbrecher, Karl Zaunbrecher, Jr., and Hubert Zaunbrecher; and one great-nephew, David Karl Burk..
She was born Saturday, September 9, 1911 in Branch, the daughter of the late Karl Zaunbrecher, Sr. and the late Helena Frey Zaunbrecher.
She was a member of St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society and St. Leo Ladies Altar Society.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday, May 22, 2009 from 8 a.m. until time of services at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
