Kaplan gets new fire truck
NEW FIRE TRUCK - Thanks to the joint effort between the City of Kaplan and the Vermilion Parish Police Jury, the city was able to purchase a new fire truck. The cost of the new truck was $244,547, with the cost being shared by the two municipalities. The Vermilion Parish Police Jury paid $214,547 and the City of Kaplan paid $30,000. The truck replaces a 1972 truck.On hand for the unveiling of the truck were (l) District 12 Police Juror, Cloris Boudreaux; Mayor Linda Hardee; Councilwoman Eva Dell Morrison; District 10 Police Juror, Ronald Menard; (back) Fire Chief Donald Meaux and Vermilion Parish Police Juror President, Gerald Buteaud (r) Councilman Kevin Guidry; Councilman at Large and fire department board member, Kirk Champagne; Councilman,volunteer fireman and board member, Brent Dubois; volunteer fireman and board member, Travis Roussell; volunteer fireman and board member, Darrell “Mobie” Bertrand and Assistant Fire Chief Harold Marceaux.
