Kaplan nuptials unite Hendrix and Broussard

Deacon David Vaughn witnessed the exchange of wedding vows between Crissy Michelle Hendrix and Dusty Lee Broussard at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kaplan during a 6:00 p.m. ceremony on October 4, 2008.

Crissy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hendrix of Carlyss. She is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hendrix, Ms. Elsie Theriot and the late Mr. Ray Theriot, all of Grandlake, LA.

Dusty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Broussard of Forked Island.

Escorted by her father, Mr. Terry Hendrix, the bride wore a white satin A-line halter style dress with a split front that was adorned with beads and lace. The bodice of the gown had a corset lace back. The A-line skirt flowed into a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of silk fall colored roses that were laced throughout with great grandmother’s rosary.

The Matron of Honor was Neah Abshire, a friend of the bride. Serving as bridesmaids for the event were Veronica Guillot, aunt of the groom; Denise Gaspard, friend of the bride; Lacey Touchet, friend of the bride; Amanda Venable, cousin of the bride; and Contessa Bell, friend of the bride.

The bridal party’s dresses were strapless satin in a ball gown style that had pick-up detailing. The latte colored gowns were accented with a champagne sash. They carried smaller bouquets of fall colored roses.

Walking as the Flower girls were Thalan Broussard, daughter of the groom; Cheyana Broussard, godchild of the bride and groom; and Kloe’ Hendrix, niece of the bride.

For the groom, the Best Man was Stoney Broussard, brother of the groom. Standing in as Groomsmen were Chad Abshire, friend of the groom; Brady Hendrix, brother of the bride; Nolan Guillot, uncle of the groom; Aaron Trahan, friend of the groom; and Justin Bourque, friend of the bride. Serving a Ushers were Crandall Hendrix, brother of the bride; and Cody Gaspard, cousin of the groom.

For the wedding, the bride’s mother wore a beaded champagne lace three-quarter length sleeve gown of chiffon and lace that was adorned with beads. Her corsage consisted of two silk cream colored roses, adorned with champagne colored ribbon.

The groom’s mother wore a tea length, three-quarter length sleeve champagne colored chiffon dress. Her corsage was created by combining two silk creamed colored roses and were also adorned with champagne colored ribbon.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Lenwood Meaux, organist. Readings were given by Tammy Nunez, godmother of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the V-Arena Hall.
