A. Kenneth Faulk

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 4, 2013, at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for A. Kenneth Faulk, 89, who died on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Lafayette.

Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, St. Benedict the Moor Chruch in Duson, was the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services.

Lectors were two of his grandchildren, Jeanne LeBouef and Alyssa Mitchell. Giftbearers were Carmen Guidry, Mary Margaret Faulk, Ashley Wilson, Mary Elizabeth Mayeaux, and Taylor Hebert. Eulogist was his son, Greg Faulk.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-four years, Beverly Debetaz Faulk of Lafayette; one son, Gregory Faulk and his wife, Suyapa, of Nashville, TN; four daughters, Janet Wilson and her husband, Emmett, of Youngsville, Carla Lambousy and her husband, Stephen, of Crowley, Lynn Cullen and her husband, Mark, of Crowley, Jill Guidry and her husband, Marcus, Sr., of Lafayette; two step- daughters, Debby Bowers and her husband, Roy, of Scott and Susie Hebert and her husband, Eddie, of Arnaudville; one brother, Norman Faulk and his wife, Nettie, of Rayne; three sisters, Selma Blanchard and her husband, Hubert, of Atlanta, Sylvia Morris and her husband, Jeff, of Houston, TX and Evelyn Siewert and her husband, Bob, of Seattle, WA; one sister-in-law, Joyce Faulk of Rayne; twenty grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Mayeaux, Bradley Faulk, Mary Magaret Faulk, Jeanne LeBouef, Ashley Wilson, Mark Wilson, Marcus Guidry, Jr., Carmen Guidry, Katherine Cullen, Alyssa Mitchell, Eric Lambousy, Ross Cullen, Jon Austin Cullen, Casey Hebert, Taylor Hebert and Seth Bowers; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernest and Florence Chappuis Faulk; one son, Ted Faulk; one brother, Stanley Faulk; and two granddaughters, Mary Francis Faulk and Courtney Bowers.

A native of Rayne and a resident of Lafayette, Ken proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. and in the Navy Maritime. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad, Southwestern Life Insurance Company, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance and Bayou Bend Country Club in Crowley. Ken served as President of the International Rice Festival of Crowley in 1967. Kenneth’s passion was playing and teaching the game of golf and proudly achieved making six hole in ones in his lifetime with his last one at the age of eighty. Ken’s true love was spending time with his family.

Pallbearers were Eric Lambousy, Bradley Faulk, Mark Wilson, Marcus Guidry, Jr., Ross Cullen, John Austin Cullen, Casey Hebert and Seth Bowers.

The family requested visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

A Rosary was prayed Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The Faulk family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Lou and Calvin Vice, all the staff of Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home and Amedisys Hospice.
