Kimberly Fontenot named Frog Festival Ms. Queen
Beautiful young ladies were named new Rayne Frog Festival honorees on Saturday, Oct. 22, during the 2011 Frog Festival Queen’s Pageants. The annual events were again held at the Rayne Civic Center emceed by Cheryl Richard, Chairperson Rayne City Council of Beta Sigma Phi.
Crowned the 2011 Rayne Frog Festival Queen was Kelsey Paige Primeaux, 18-year-old daughter of Alcide and Paulette Primeaux of Rayne. She entered the pageant repesenting the City of Rayne as the outgoing Miss Rayne and was crowned by last year’s honoree, Chynna Fontenot. The ULL freshman was presented her awards by Frog Festival Director Cheryl Richard and committee member Angie Broussard.
The new 2011 Rayne Teen Frog Festival Queen is Ashlee Marie Guilbeau, 16-year-old daughter of Clyde and Karen Guilbeau of Lafayette. The Lafayette High junior was presented her crown by the 2010 honoree, Lindsey LeBlanc, and her awards by Rayne Frog Festival Association Director Cheryl Richard and committee member Angie Broussard.
Frog Festival Queen
Joining new Frog Festival Queen Kelsey Primeaux on her court were:
1st Maid and Acadia Parish's representative to the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Pageant was Adrienne Elise Hebert, 18-year-old daughter of Allen and Crystal Hebert and Aimee Gaspard of Rayne. She will also assume the crown should the queen be unable to complete her reign. She was awarded by RFFA Committee Member Nikki Link.
2nd Maid was Sommer Starr LeJeune, 21-year-old daughter of Edward and Tonya LeJeune of Rayne. She was presented her award by RFFA Committee member Theresa Prather.
Sommer was also presented the Miss Congeniality banner by Kevin Prejean, RFFA member.
Special guests in attendance for the pageant were former title holders, including Brooke Henry 2001, Jennifer J. Autin (2002) and Mandy Q. Blackmon (2005).
Teen Frog Festival Queen
Prior to the crowning of Ashlee Guilbeau as the new 2011 Teen Rayne Frog Festival Queen, her court was named and included:
Teen 1st Maid Karli McRight, 15-year-old daughter of Pam and Richard McRight of Lake Charles. She was presented her award by RFFA committee member Angie Broussard.
Karli was also honored as Teen Miss Congeniality and awarded her banner by RFFA committee member Kevin Prejean.
Teen 2nd Maid was Brittany Paige Hebert, 16-year-old daughter of Cory and Amanda Fruge and Landon and Shelly Gatte of Iota. She received her awards by RFFA committee member Beverly Rayon.
Teen 3rd Maid was Rachael Therese Guidry, 16-year-old daughter of Darwin and Estelle Guidry of Breaux Bridge. Her award was presented by RFFA committee member Peggy Wagar.
An additional portion of the program included the crowning of the 2011-12 Ms. Frog Festival Queen, Kimberly Michaelle Naquin Fontenot of Broussard. She is married to Damon Fontenot, and is the 25-year-old daughter of Jessie and Phyllis Naquin.
The new Ms. Frog Festival Queen was awarded by the 2010 Frog Festival Queen Chynna Fontenot, RFFA director Cheryl Richard and RFFA committee member Angie Broussard.
Kimberly was also presented the Miss Congeniality banner by RFFA committee member Kevin Prejean.
Completing the Ms. Frog Festival Queen's Court were:
1st Maid was Heather Chaline of Lake Charles. She is the 24-year-old daughter of Ronnie and Debbie Chaline and was awarded by RFFA committee member Nikki Link.
2nd Maid was Tami Simon of Lafayette. She is the 27-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Castille of Loreauville, and Mr. and Mrs. William Walker of New Iberia. She received her awards from Allyson Boudreaux.
3rd Maid was Kaye Brasseaux of Erath. She is the 27-year-old daughter of Phyllis Thibodeaux of Erath and was awarded by RFFS committee member Dina LeJeune.
The newly crowned 2011-12 Miss Rayne, Adrianna Matte, welcomed everyone to the City of Rayne and presented a special invitation to attend the 2011 Frog Festival this November.
Also in attendance were approximately 100 visiting queens from throughout the state, each representing her fair and festival.
Honored during the pageant was the newly named 2011 Frog Festival Grand Marshal, Fair Craig Hash. She was presented a special keepsake by RFFA committee member Nikki Link.
