Krewe of Town Revelers plan ‘Notoriously Cimmer’ Carnival Ball
The Krewe of Town Revelers’ annual Carnival Ball is a production unlike any other, often taking guests through an amazing and imaginative journey, and the theme for 2014 has finally been announced.
With the theme “Notoriously Cimmer,” the 2014 celebration will feature court members as newsworthy characters from history. These headline makers were known for being the good, the bad and the ugly, but 2014 director Claire Kelbaugh promises only the tradition of fun and beauty – in costumes, music and entertainment.
A large crowd attended the recent family-oriented theme-announcement event and enjoyed games and socializing as they discussed plans for the upcoming Mardi Gras season.
With even the food in theme, the Guys and Dolls Buffet, prepared by Town Club Chef Steven Tucker, included Pasta Al Capone, Steak a la Marilyn Monroe, Hemingway Trout, Britney Asparagus Spears, Eggplant Audrey, Scandalous French Onion Soup and Prohibition Punch. For the younger guests, the Ankle Biters’ Buffet included Babes in a Blanket, Paparazzi Pizza, Newsworthy Corn Nuggets, Tempting Tator Tots and Headline Hootenanny.
The proud members of the Crowley Town Club look forward to the ball each year. “Our members have talent! And it’s showcased during this event that draws and astounds hundreds of people each year,” says a past director of the Mardi Gras celebration.
Don’t miss the celebration on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 7 p.m. at the Rice Festival Building in Crowley.
