Lady Pios remain unbeaten in league play

CROWLEY – The Notre Dame Lady Pios continued their winning ways last week, pulling off a 3-game sweep of Rayne in prep volleyball action.

The Lady Pios (23-3) won the first game 25-11 before taking the final two, 25-16, 25-17.

Kylie Pannell had eight kills for Notre Dame while Mayme Cook logged eight kills and two blocks. Libero Alex Boulet had 26 assists and three aces and setter Hannah Godeaux had 14 assists and two kills

In other volleyball action, Crowley (12-8) fell to Teurlings in five games to drop to 0-2 in district play.

Teurling rallied to tie the match at two games before taking a 15-10 win in the decisive fifth game.

Mercedes Rogers and Kristan Hargrave led the Ladies with four kills each. Rogers also had three blocks and two aces while Hargrave had five assists and two aces.

Also contributing were Tracie Boyd (3 kills, 2 blocks, 3 aces), Mylaina Brooks (3 kills, 2 aces), Kara Wilridge (2 kills, 1 block) and Carlita George (1 kill, 2 assists).
