Lady Pios win Spooktacular

CADE – The Notre Dame Lady Pios’ volleyball team recently defeated St. Michael of Baton Rouge, 25-17, 25-12, to claim the prestigious ESA Spooktacular Tournament championship.
It was Notre Dame’s first Spooktacular title in 10 years.
The Lady Pios defeated University High in three sets to open the tournament (25-21, 18-25, 15-10) before winning another hard-fought, three-set match over Northlake Christian (25-23, 17-25, 17-15).
In the semifinals, the Lady Pios eliminated tournament host and Division V powerhouse ESA, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11.
Notre Dame’s Alex Boulet was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. The defensive specialist logged 79 digs, and two aces in four games.
Joining Boulet on the All-Tournament team are Mayme Cook and Kylie Pannell.
Cook recorded 28 kills, 42 assists, 31 digs, one block and seven aces during the tournament while Pannell had 35 kills, 22 digs and three blocks.
Setter Hannah Godeaux logged 44 assists, 17 digs and six aces and Jeanne Claire Robichaux had 13 kills, 45 digs and two aces.
Also contributing were Ann Marie Stoma with 14 kills, one assist, four digs and four blocks; Caroline Stewart, eight kills, 18 digs and one block; Jade Meaux, one kill, nine digs, and one block; Megan Faul, one kill, 40 digs and one ace; Taylor Simon with one assist and Charli Leger with six digs.
