Lady Rebels top Barbe; Rebels fall in OT

MIDLAND – The Midland Lady Rebels outscored Barbe’s Lady Bucs 21-12 in the fourth quarter Tuesday to rally for a 58-50 victory over the Class 5A team from Lake Charles.

The victory was the Lady Rebels’ fifth in 21 games.

The Lady Rebels led 15-13 after the first quarter, but they trailed by two at the half (28-26) and one (38-37) entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Rebels connected on eight of their nine free throw attempts in the final frame to seal the victory.

Katie Woods and Morgan Clement paced the Lady Rebels with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Hannah Fremaux, Katie Primeaux and Haley Guidry each scored eight points and Melody Hebert added six.

The Rebels weren’t as fortunate, falling 52-49 in overtime to Basile at Basile.

Chase Vincent led all scorers with 19 points while Allen Fonenot had 18.

In other prep action, the Notre Dame Lady Pios cruised to a 71-27 victory over Comeaux at A.B. Dore gym.

Sam Lyons and Lexie Trosclair led the Lady Pios with 11 points each and Mallory Chiasson scored 10. Taylor Simon and Mary Charles each added nine points.
