Lady Wolves in playoffs
As of press ttime, the Lady Wolves were waiting for Friday’s meeting, that’s the day they will be informed of who and when they play in the first round of the state softball playoffs.
The first round must be completed by Tuesday, April 21, with the second by April 25, with the State Tournament again to be played at the Sulphur Complex.
Completing their regular season as co-champs of 5-3A with Notre Dame, the Lady Wolves played a tie-breaker Tuesday afternoon at the Crowley Rec Department, where they took a commanding 13-6 win.
The Rayne High batters burned through four Notre Dame pitchers before the contest was completed.

Meche allowed seven hits and four walks for the win.
Lady Wolves leading at the plate were Meche, Kaitlin Thibodeaux and Tori Mott, each 2-for-4, 2 RBIs; and Kelsey Hollier 4-5, 2 RBIs. Also scoring for the Lady Wolves were Shandi Deville, Julie Boutin, Skyla Shexnider and Haley Habetz.
Notre Dame was led on offense by Taylor Simon, Meranda LeBlanc, Hannah Granger, Hannah Granger and Caroline Stewart, each attaining a hit apiece.
