Lakeview Park’s 2011 Mardi Gras music lineup and pig roast

EUNICE - Lakeview Park and Beach’s 2011 Mardi Gras music lineup is sure to make you want to do the Mardi Gras Mambo. The historic facility is ideal for dancing and listening to good music. The dance hall overlooks the beautiful water.
Local musicians will be fiddling, playing the accordion and singing their music which is so vital to our local culture.
On Friday, March 4, Jason Frey and Lagniappe will perform, followed by Paul Daigle & Cajun Gold from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m.
Then on Saturday, March 5, the Red Stick Ramblers start the music, and Pine Leaf Boys complete the show also from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. Saturday, the public is encouraged to dress up and participate in the traditional Mardi Gras Costume Contest.
Sunday, March 6 is family night. Kids are welcome to enjoy Kyle Huval and The Dixie Club Ramblers followed by Jesse Lege and Joel Savoy from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m.
Monday, March 7 is the third annual Boucherie at Lakeview Park and Beach. The pig will roast from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. followed by a 7 p. m. performance by Ryan Brunet and Les Malfecteurs. The evening culminates with the cajun dancing music of Horace Trahan & The Ossun Express until 12 a.m.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. each evening for dancing, drinking and socializing and the cover fee is $12.
For Mardi Gras weekend, our own local musicians will add a festive flare to the area’s celebration. At Lakeview Park one can listen to live Cajun / Zydeco / Gypsy Swing music non stop. Even if there are too many libations, and driving home after the music is not a good idea for you, book an RV site on the premises by calling 337-457-2881.
