Laureate Mu Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi
Mrs. Elsie Rowell
Mrs. Elsie Rowell presented a program on the sandhill crane migration along the Platte River at the July meeting of the Beta Sigma Phi. The meeting was held in her home on Tuesday, July 1.
Mrs. Rowell gave an account of her experiences on her trip to Kearney, Nebraska, to view the annual migration of this exotic bird.
Following her presentation and the showing of a video and her personal photos, a discussion was held with all members in attendance.
Members discussed and made plans to go to the Smithsonian exhibit at the Kaplan Museum on September 24.
During the meeting jars of peanut butter were collected to be delivered to the Crowley Christian Care Center. Members were then asked to bring canned meat products to the September meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Nancy Tislow.
The “Ritual of Jewels” ceremony will also be held during the September meeting for the two new joining club members.
