CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Lawrence Stutes, 75, who died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Meadowbrooks Rehab in Lafayette.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will be officiating the services.
Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
A rosary will be said Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annie Mae Adams Stutes of Crowley; five sons, Mark and wife Jackie Stutes of Crowley, Gregory (Bozo) Stutes of Crowley, Jeffery (P-Wee) Stutes of Scott, Kenneth (Monkey) Stutes of Crowley and Lawrence (Baba) Stutes, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Debra and husband Joseph Miller of rural Kaplan, Penny and husband Sidney Badon of Gueydan and Cristie and husband Melvin Istre of Crowley; two sisters, Jenny Dee and husband Reese Borill of Crowley and Barbara Ann and husband Carol Guilbeaux of Carencro; one brother, Horace Stutes of Lafayette; one half-brother, James Edward and wife Audrey Magnon of Pa., eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stutes is preceded in death by a grandson, Dwayne Dronet; his parents, Bill Bennett and Naomi Landry Magnon; his step-father, Alfred Magnon; and a half-brother, Malcolm Lee Magnon.
He was a former Marine and also worked in the oilfield industry. He was a comical man who loved to joke and pick on everyone. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
