CROWLEY – Members of the 2007-2008 class began the session in Jennings on Wednesday April 16 with a visit to West End Hospital Neuro Behavioral Medical Center and a presentation by Stacie Wilson, Administrator. Participants were informed about the treatment methods available for patients over 50 years old, discussing both in patient and out patient services.

Kathleen Guidry, along with Rev. Paul Estes, and George Houssiere of La. Hospice & Pallative Care, joined the group at the Board Room of the Jennings American Legion Hospital for a presentation of their program. Following, the participants went to the Southwest War Veterans’ Home for a tour and lunch.

In the first part of the afternoon session, the emphasis was on assistance to the needy. Included were a visit and tour of Christian Care Center, led by Doreen Johnson, Director. Going on to the Enterprise Center, a discussion of services offered by the Assist Agency was led by May Rose Bourgeois, Kerry Stutes, and Audrey Huntsberry. Wes Gautreaux spoke briefly on Blue Print Louisiana.
