Leo Raymond Doise
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Leo Raymond Doise, 93, who died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday in Lafayette.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will conduct the funeral service and the committal services at the Liberty Cemetery in Elton. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The family request visitation be observed Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.
He was born October 29, 1916 in Elton to the late Prosper and Mary Langley Doise. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during WWII.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Iota and served as sergeant at arms. He worked in the oil field most of his life and retired as a Production Supervisor.
He is survived by his two daughters Janet Moyse and her husband Hermann III of Baton Rouge and Ruth D. Miller and her husband Frank of Lafayette; two sons Ralph Doise and his wife Lida of Lafayette and Gerard Doise and his wife Linda of Vacaville, Cal.; a sister Nettie Robertson of Moss Bluff; five grandchildren Allison Moyse of Baton Rouge, David Moyse of Washington, DC, Aaron Moyse of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Oliver of Egan and Amanda Fusilier of Crowley; five great-grandchildren Chloe and Nathan Fusilier and Cameron, Madison and Willow Oliver. He is also survived by several step-children, step-grandchildren and a step-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 35 years Irene Miller Doise, his second wife Mable Lejeune Doise; two brothers Gustin and Earl Doise; and two sisters Ena Quick and Myrtle Doise.
