Lethie Hanks of Crowley celebrates her 95th birthday,
CROWLEY - Lethie Hanks of Crowley turned 95 years young on Aug. 15, and her family and friends celebrated the milestone with a gathering held at the Northside Assembly of God Church on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 18.
Hanks was born in Sunset in 1918 to the late Ezor Lavergne and the late Mentor Boudreaux. She was married to Ben Hanks, who passed away several years ago.
Decorations for the fête included a “Happy Birthday” banner, and Hanks was presented with an arrangement of cut flowers.
The approximately 40 guests enjoyed a large birthday cake with raspberry filling that bore the greeting, “Happy 95th Birthday Mom,” and lime sherbet punch.
Hanks has five children, Barney Quibodeaux and husband Dewey of Crowley; Loraine Franke and husband Larry of Crowley; Johnny Hanks and wife Janelle of Nederland, Texas; James Hanks and wife Carol of Orange, Texas; and Dwayne Hanks of Crowley. She is the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
All of Hanks’ children, along with their families, were able to be present for the fun.
