Acadia Players to offer ‘To Art and Beyond II’

The Acadia Players have announced that they will be offering a second summer day camp, “To Art and Beyond II.”

The camp is designed for youths ages 6 through 14 and, like the original “To Art and Beyond” camp, will include instruction on art, drama and production.

“To Art and Beyond II” will include new artists, projects, media and productions, and campers will be able to experience creating art in five different media. Campers will also participate in all areas of theater production, including play writing; costume, prop and scenery creation; and performance.

The camp is scheduled for July 21 - 25 at the Acadia Parish Center for the Arts & Culture, 530 W. Mill St. in Crowley, and will be held in the mornings, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The camp will conclude with a reception, art exhibit and presentation of original one-act plays written and performed by the campers on the July 25.

The cost of the camp is $50 per child, which includes materials for all activities and a T-shirt. Registration is limited to the first 15 youths to register and pay the fee.

The registration deadline is July 15. Although late registrations may be accepted, late registrants will not receive T-shirts.

Registration forms are available at Crowley Flower Shop, the Acadia Parish Center for the Arts & Culture and The Gallery.
