Couple to reside in Duson following wedding trip to Disney World in Florida

 

Mandy Nicole Ann Richard and Elliot Spencer Bourgeois, both of Duson, were united in holy matrimony on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 22.

Barbara Broussard officiated the nuptial ceremony at Sunny Meade in Scott.

The bride is the daughter of Russell and Michelle Stutes Doucet of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Theresa and Chester Stutes of Crowley, and Fanny and Stacy Broussard of Gueydan.

Mandy is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and Louisiana State University – Eunice. She is presently employed with Acadiana Urgent Care.

The groom is the son of Todd and Chris Lavergne Bourgeois of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Carlton Lavergne of Scott, and Connie and Anthony Bourgeois of Church Point.

A graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, Ellliot is currently employed with T. Baker Smith.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was beautiful in a strapless ball gown of ivory shantung taffeta. The fitted, criss-cross bodice featured a sweetheart neckline, and a side gather at the waist was adorned with a self-fabric bow and crystal brooch.

The back of the  full skirt was finished with a light sweep train perfect for the dramatic gown. For a headpiece, Mandy selected a complementary ivory birdcage veil, and for flowers she carried a hand-tied bouquet of bright, colorful Gerbera daisies 

The bride was attended by her friend Bridget Daigrepont as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mayci Richard, niece of the bride; Savannah Johnson, sister of the groom; and Stephanie Landry, friend of the bride.

Kevin Link, friend of the groom, served as best man. Standing as groomsmen were Gabriel Bourgeois, nephew of the groom; Blaise Bourgeois, brother of the groom; and Billy Baker, friend of the groom.

Caitlyn Johnson, the groom’s niece, served as flower girl, and Austin Johnson, the groom’s godchild, served as ring bearer.

Immediately following the wedding, guests celebrated with the newlywed couple at an on-site reception.

Following a wedding trip to Disney World, the couple will reside in Duson.
