Afternoon baby shower honors Tara Duplichain

An afternoon baby shower was held at the Rayne Firemen’s Hall in honor of Mrs. Jason Duplichain of Rayne, the former Tara Credeur.
Maternal grandparents-to-be are Joseph and Connie Credeur of Mire.
Paternal grandparents-to-be are Alcide and Veronica Duplichain of Crowley.
Serving as hostesses for the courtesy were Jeannine Venable, Patsy Beard, Deany Begeron, Jocelyn Stevens, Miriah Beard, Dawn Begeron, Cassie Guidry, Darlene Begeron, Courtney Elkins and Ellie Duplichain.
Refreshments served for guests included a number of finger foods such as boudin balls, meatballs, chicken salad sandwiches, meat and cheese platter, chips and dip, spinach dip with crackers, deviled eggs, vegetable and fruit trays, lemonade, root-beer, brownies, pepper jelly with cream cheese, and a special shower cake, a round double layered confection with Bavarian cream and chocolate mouse.
Decorations noted for the social were wood ducks, cat tails, burlap, bamboo accents, along with brown, green and black accents.
For the special event, Tara wore a knee-length red dress designed with a round neckline and long sleeves. She was presented a corsage of a Chevron and camouflage print ribbon made into rosettes with a rubber mallard duck in the center.
The maternal grandmother-to-be’s attire included a black and white pants suit. Her corsage was a mossy oak camouflage print with “Maw” in blue letters.
The paternal grandmother-to-be’s attire was a blue print blouse and navy pants. Her corsage was a mossy oak camouflage print with “Noni” in blue letters.
Approximately 35 guests were in attendance for the afternoon courtesy from Rayne, Mire, Crowley, Lafayette, Church Point, and points in Texas.
The baby’s expected date of arrival was December 30, 2013.
