Les Dames enjoy ‘Painting with Yvonne’

Hostesses for the March 12 meeting of Les Dames Acadienne were, standing from left, Janis Coignard and Betty Miller. Les Dames Acadienne enjoyed an out-of-the-ordinary monthly meeting when they met at The Gallery in Crowley at noon on Wednesday, March 12.
Robert Baxter, president of the Crowley Art Association, gave the women a painting lesson. Each member completed an original work of art that she was able to take home with her.
During the business portion of the meeting, it was noted that the meeting time for the April 9 bus trip has been changed to 8:30 a.m.
Additionally, officers for the upcoming program year 2014 - 2015 were elected. They include:
President - Betty Miller;
Vice President - Willie Mae Dailey;
Secretary - Bonnie Gaspard; and
Treasurer - Cynthia Kratzer.
Secret Sisters exchanged gifts and there was a brief “show-and-tell” period. The door prize was awarded to Lois Richard.
Lunch was served by the hostesses following the meeting.
