Monica, Robbie honored during couples’ shower
The South Rayne Community Center was the setting on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, for a couples’ shower held in honor of Monica Alleman of Rayne and Robbie Devillier of Scott.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Raylin and Linda Alleman of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Robert ad Lynn Devillier of Opelousas, Donna Vautrot of Lafayette and the late Frank Vautrot.
“The Hunt Is Over” was the theme of the social as guests were welcomed to a camouflage-accented reception area, complete with a camouflage backdrop centered with the couple’s initials. Special chairs for the honorees were covered with orange hunting vests and guests in attendance wore camouflage shirts and accessories.
The honored couple was attired in a camouflage shirt and jeans. Monica was presented a special shoulder corsage comprised of a shotgun shell accented with greenery and wrapped in burlap. Robbie was presented a matching boutonniere.
Each attired in camouflage and orange bandana (theme of the day), hosting the afternoon social were Kim Guidry, Kylie Devillier, Chrissy Sampay, Dawn Reviere, Tracy Venable, Stacy Arnaud, Gloria Sanchez, Vickie Alleman, Mary Lee Maynig, Erica Johnson, Earline Johnson, Earline Miller, Heather Barker, Wendy Domingue, Martha Hoffpauir, Elissa Hebert, Cheryl Thibodeaux, Roudel Meaux, Jackie Comeaux, Bercie Alleman, Mandy Potier, Delores Lagneaux, Ave McBride, Audrey Miller, Brenda Primeaux and Cary Primeaux.
Guests were treated to a variety of refrershments, including boudin, cheese dip, pepper jelly over cheese with crackers, veggie tray, fruit tray, Mexican dip and chips, sausage bread, seven-layer dip and chips, hummus and pita chips, cheese tray, and a number of sweets and beverages. Accenting the refreshments was a bride’s dress cupcake cake and a groom’s chocolate camouflage cake.
Aproximately 40 guests were in attendance from Rayne, Mire, Duson, Lafayette, Sunset, Opelousas, Carencro, Scott, Iota, Eunice, Hathaway, Washington and Texas.
Monica and Robbie will be united as husband and wife on Saturday, Feb. 22, during a five o’clock afternoon wedding ceremony at the American Legion Home in Rayne, followed by a reception on site.
