Pink Lady board holds May meeting
The board of directors of the Pink Lady Auxiliary of the American Legion Hospital met on Monday, May 5, at 9 a.m. in the conference room of the hospital.
President Gloria LeBlanc conducted the meeting. Evelyn Barousse led the prayer, pledge and Pledge of Allegiance. Roberta Sonnier, secretary, called the roll and read the minutes for the April meeting. The financial report was given by Nettie Romero, treasurer.
It was announced that Marlene Olsen is ready to be trained, and there was a short discussion on training procedures.
Pursuant to a head count by the chairman of the hospitality committee, Leora Amy, it was determined that 32 members plan to attend the May luncheon.
Members have been assigned by President LeBlanc to present the Pink Lady Scholarship Awards at the seven parish schools. These scholarships are given to graduates who are furthering their education in the medical field.
The board members were informed that the volunteer coordinator of Lafayette General Health, Monica Guidry, met recently with President LeBlanc and Treasurer Romero, and that they should expect some changes in their Pink Lady duties.
