Lingerie shower celebrates Bertrand, Johnson engagement
CROWLEY - A lingerie and linen shower honoring Mariana Noelle Bertrand, bride-elect of Bradley Allen Johnson, was held March 18, 2011 at the home of her godmother, Jody Hornsby. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Carolyn and Wes Bertrand of Crowley and the prospective groom is the son of Kim T. Whitman of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Tim L. Johnson of Jacksonville, Alabama.
Serving as hostesses for the gathering were bridal attendants, Katherine Cullen, Mallory Hornsby and Amelia Bertrand. Special guests in attendance were the bride-elect’s grandmothers, Judy Bertrand and Esther Trahan.
For this special occasion, the honoree was attired in a fitted royal blue jersey dress with gathered cap sleeves and a crocodile embossed black belt.
The Hornsby home was beautifully appointed with white tablecloths, flowers and balloons along with a special table arrangement designed by Judy Bertrand. Guests were entertained with several shower games and prizes for “best recipe for a happy marriage,” “the five items most needed in the bride’s purse” and “how well do you know the bride.”
Guests were served assorted delights including chicken salad sandwiches, crawfish dip in pastry shells, fettuccine, chicken drumettes, sangria, orange bourbon-slush punch, soft drinks and coffee. A red velvet cake, the favorite confection of the bride-to-be and beautifully decorated with the shower theme, completed the evening festivities.
The couple will exchange vows on August 6, 2011 in a seven o’clock evening ceremony officiated by Father Gary Schexnayder at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.
