LAFAYETTE – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Lisa Maria Truax, 51, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Lana Truax and Joyce Truax. Giftbearers will be her nieces.
Survivors include her mother, Belva Dommert Truax of Lafayette; four brothers, Stephen Truax III and his wife, Karen, of Houston, Texas, Michael Truax, Sr. and his wife, Lana, of Baton Rouge, David Kevin Truax and his wife, Joyce of Houston, Texas and Daniel Truax and his wife, Leslie of Lafayette; her nieces and nephews, Sadie McCarley and her husband, Jason, of Houston, Texas, Megan Truax of Houston, Texas, Erin Truax and Michael Truax, Jr. both of Baton Rouge, Elizabeth Truax and Timothy Truax both of Houston, Texas and Margaret Chauvin of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Truax, Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Stephen and Verbie Truax; and her maternal grandparents, Henry and Laurence Dommert.
A native of Crowley, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Miss Truax was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Truax III, Michael Truax, Sr., David Kevin Truax, Daniel Truax, Michael Truax, Jr. and Timothy Truax.
A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 7 p.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Jennifer Richardson, Mary Venable, Grace Citizen, Tawanna Moore, Racheal Mouton and Demetrias Martin for their kindness and gentle care given to Lisa during her time of need.
