CROWLEY – Art that vary in medium and content as well as from artists of all ages will be on display this Saturday as The Gallery showcases entrants and announces winners for the 22nd Annual Rice Capital Juried Art Competition.

The Gallery, located at 222 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley, will once again play host to the annual competition that showcases the best works of local artists all competing for top prizes in one of many categories and, of course, for the title of “Best In Show.” These winners will all be announced at the monthly gala, held at The Gallery from 6-8 p.m.

This year an additional award is up for grabs, the “Viewers Choice Award.” The Viewers Choice Award winner will be announced July 29, following the end of the month’s display.

In the adult division there are 10 categories–landscapes/seascapes, portraits/figures, still life/floral, animals/wildlife, experimental, decorative painting, adult student, photography, needlecraft and all other. Each category will have a first, second and third place as well as an honorable mention.

In the student division, there are three divisions, high school, middle school and elementary school. Each division will also feature a first, second and third place as well as an honorable mention.

A “Best in Show in Fine Arts and Other Media” will be awarded in the adult division and a “Best in Show Student” will be named.

The gala is open to the public and is free.
