Local restaurant awards essay contest winner

In an effort to encourage kids to keep reading and writing during the summer break, local Taco Bell manage Russell Hebert is sponsoring an essay contest.

The theme for the first weekly contest was “What I want to be when I grow up”, and Charmaine Jones of Abbeville is the first winner of a free kids meal.

“Each weekly winner wins a free kids meal at the Abbeville Taco Bell. I hope this contest inspires the kids of our area to write during these summer months and beyond.”, Hebert stated.

Jones’ essay is as follows:

“What I want to be when I grow up?”

“Hi my name is Charmaine Jones and when I grow up I want to be a Doctor. Why? Is because Doctors take care of people when they are sick or dying, also, Doctors are more important to anyone who doesn’t care. That is why I want to be a Doctor.”

The theme for next week’s essay is “My Hero!”
