Lovenia Cormier Guidry
CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Lovenia Cormier “Ben” Guidry, 79, beloved mother and life-long resident of Crowley, who died Wednesday morning, December 31, 2008, at her residence.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service on Friday. A holy rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lyons Point.
Lovenia is survived by one son, Walter Broussard and his wife Jackie of Crowley; four daughters, Charlene Schexnayder and her husband Johnnie of Lyons Point, Anna Lee Hoffpauir and her husband Joseph, Dannell Trumps and her husband Chris both of Crowley, and Loretta Raphiel and her husband Harry of St. Francisville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one brother, Eual Cormier and his wife Elaine of Lyons Point; and two sisters, Laura Mae Guidry and her husband Renee of Lyons Point, and Dorthey “Dot” Thibodeaux also her neighbor of Crowley.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Ernest and Clayton Broussard; her parents, Pierre and Olivia Plaissance Cormier; three sisters, Euchariste LeJeune, Lucia Meaux, and Ozey Abshire; and one brother, Norris Cormier.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Schexnayder, Jacob Touchet, Shannon Broussard, Karlo Broussard, Ryan Trumps, and Justin Stasik. The honorary pallbearers are her five children.
