LSWA High School Boys Basketball Polls

CROWLEY – After returning four starters from last season’s regional playoff team, the Midland Rebels are off to another spectacular start on the hardwood.

With signature victories over St. Louis, Fairview, Centerville and Anacoco, the Rebels are once again among the Class B elite.

Boasting a record of 23-3, Midland is the No. 1 team in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class B-C Polls released today. The Rebels are two points ahead of No. 2 Zwolle and three ahead of No. 3 Rapides.

“To tell you the truth, I don’t ever remember being ranked No. 1, even when I was playing,” said Midland coach Todd Briley. “It is an honor but I don’t put a whole lot of stock in the polls. It’s nice but it really doesn’t matter where you’re ranked (now). What matters is what you do at the end of the season.”

Crowley High (12-6) is the only other Acadia Parish team to hit the polls, earning the No. 16 spot in Class AAA.

Here is the high school boys basketball polls as voted on by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Team records, first-place votes and points are included.
