Lucille Boullion Daigle
Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. for Lucille Boullion Daigle, 93 who died peacefully in her sleep at St. Agnes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.
A life-long resident of Rayne, Lucille lived a full life working side-by side with her husband Theobert Daigle for over 25 years at their grocery store. Lucille was commited to her faith and served the church faithfully throught the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by two children; daughter Mary Beth Daigle Hayes and her husband Ricky Hayes of Rayne and one son Ted Joseph Daigle also of Rayne; four grandchildren, Richie Hayes, Shantel Hayes, Ashley Elizabeth Hornsby, and Jet Daigle; two step-grandsons Blane Melancon and Michael Daigle; four great-grandchildren Grayson Roy, Logan Taylor, Jayden Hornsby and Mya Hornsby.
She was preceded in death by her parents Amedee and Ellenor Touchet Boullion, four brothers Murphy, Harry Lee, Lawrence and Wilson Boullion; her husband, Theobert Daigle and one step son Euric Daigle.
She was born Tuesday, April 9, 1918 in , Daughter of the late Amedee Boullion and the late Ellenor Touchet.
Not only was Lucille a dedicated wife, mother and business partner, she also was an angel to the state's Foster Care System. Lucille and her husband fostered over 20 children. In 1979, they were honored by the governor by being named Foster Parents of the Year.
Lucille loved her life by loving her family, her God, her community, and countless children who needed a sense of normalcy. Lucille oved her Cajun heritage and was the belle of the dance floor. We are sure she is dancing in heaven with her husband wearing a snappy hat.
Friends will be received 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., Sunday, August 21 and 8:30 A.M. until service Monday, August 22, 2011. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
The family would like to thank St. Agnes, Heart of Hospice, The Rayne Guest Home, Dr. Tommy Curtis of Rayne and Dr. Warren Degatar of Breaux Bridge.
