Main to Main Fest Nov. 4th
CROWLEY - Crowley Main Street will celebrate their third Annual Main to Main Fall Fest on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 6:30 pm. “An Evening with the Arts” and “A Taste of Cuisine” will be held at The Grand Opera House of the South located at 505 N. Parkerson Avenue. Included in this year’s event will be art displays by the Crowley Art Association and a silent auction (with benefits going to the Crowley Art Association in its programming for Acadia Parish). The Crowley Garden Club has also been invited to be a part of this much anticipated affair and will display floral arrangements to interpret the art. The entertainment for the evening will be supplied by In Harmony Jazz Band from Baton Rouge. Along with the arts and music, tasty cuisine will be supplied by local chefs from Fat Mama’s, Fezzo’s Seafood, Steakhouse and Oyster Bar and The Rice Palace
Louisiana Main to Main is a program of Louisiana Main Street; it is a month-long celebration of all the Louisiana Main Street communities throughout the state. This event is sponsored in part by Louisiana Main Street and grants from the Office of the Lt. Governor, Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism and the National Park Service Preserve America. The event is also supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Acadiana Center for the Arts. It is co-sponsored by the City of Crowley. The event is designed to stimulate cultural tourism throughout the state and foster economic development.
“An Evening with the Arts” and “A Taste of Cuisine” was very well received last year and they look forward to even greater participation this year. Main St. look forward to ongoing public support as they continue to celebrate our culture, our heritage and our community.
This event is opened to the general public. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from Crowley Main Street – 788-4123, Crowley City Hall – 783-0824 and The Gallery – 783-3747 or at the door. Door opens at 6 p.m.
